What is this Marks Place?
This is, as the name implies, Mark’s place. I am Mark and I decided to set this site up to blog about my adventures with 3D printing.
But then I stopped. For reasons. Mostly because I have a short attention span. I still use my printer occasionally but not as often as I used to and I’ve had no big print projects in some time that would be interesting to write about.
A new start
I have been reading more since the pandemic, my favorite genres being fantasy and science fiction, and I started to think about how I would have done something different than the author, or how certain characteristics of a character were cool but asked what if these aspects of them or their environment were different? One day I sat down and started writing some of my ideas down and I enjoyed it and have been doing it since.
I find that words will just sort of flow as I start to write and worlds emerge. I’m not claiming my stories are good or generally interesting or have mass appeal, and I mostly don’t care if they do. Although, making enough money to keep me in motorcycle tires would be awesome.
I’m archiving the old 3D posts. They’ll be there just in a “closet” and am switching to writing about writing. I hope anyone who finds this site and my posts finds it interesting, if not helpful.
